Julian Schuetter

Biography: Julian Schuetter is a former Austrian downhill and speed specialist who competed on the Europa Cup and World Cup circuits before ending his career in 2024. Born in 1998, he achieved notable junior results, including a silver medal in downhill at the 2019 Junior World Championships, and took part in numerous speed races on the continental circuit along with several World Cup starts. Beyond his sporting results, he became known for his strong commitment as a climate activist, writing an open letter on behalf of hundreds of athletes calling on FIS to take more ambitious and transparent action on the climate crisis. After retiring from competition he continued his public work as one of the most prominent voices for sustainability in alpine skiing.
