L & rsquo; January 8, 1995 the World Cup Alpine Skiing Men makes a stop in Garmisch-Partenkirchen for a slalom which closes a series of nine races techniques on twelve who launched Alberto Tomba in command of the overall standings of the World Cup and that is the prelude to the great classics of Kitzb & uuml; hel and Wengen.

In the second race the surprise pi & ugrave; welcome is called Marc Girardelli: the old lion, back in the top ten in slalom in Lech after two years, dating from & rsquo; eighth place, winning the mathematical certainty of the podium & ndash; his first between the posts tight in the World Cup after four years & ndash; when Stangassinger confirms the difficulties & agrave; encountered until then, sinking in thirteenth place. The fight for victory remains restricted to the first two of the first run, and this race & egrave; perhaps a reflection of the difference between a sample (Ko & scaron; ir) and a class (Tomb): both have over a second ahead of Girardelli, but if Slovene is limited to managing mistakenly badly accounts, placing fourth and giving the French Yves Dimier the first podium of his career, l & rsquo; Emilian attacks as if to reassemble, threatening to get out but going to win with 1 & rdquo; 95 ahead on & rsquo; Austro-Luxembourg and pi & ugrave; 2 seconds on Dimier, Michael Tritscher, author of & rsquo; yet another convincing proof, and Ko & scaron; ir. L & rsquo; the only other Italian piazza Kurt Ladst & auml; tter in twenty-second position 9 & rdquo; 33, posting that does not allow him even to win points as well as the maximum time.
The fifth straight win and seventh season brings Tomb 750 points in the standings, just 400 pi & ugrave; Ko & scaron; ir, rose to second place, third & egrave; Kjetil Andre & Aring; modt, that with the twelfth position of Garmisch & nbsp; reaches 324 points. As said the schedule so far has allowed Alberto to accumulate a huge advantage, but between Kitzb & uuml; hel and Wengen in the next two weeks will be played four descents, a Super G and two combination that can enable & Aring; modt, Mader and Girardelli to be back in the fight for the World Cup. But if Tomb continuer & agrave; no mistake steal l & rsquo; coveted trophy seems pure utopia.
