The two days on the slopes of Whistler Canadian ends February 26 with the super-G, and passer & agrave; in history as one of the pi & ugrave weekend; happy for the colors blue alpine skiing.

After the victory of Kristian Ghedina in the descent of the previous day, Peter Runggaldier triumphs in super-G. L & rsquo; Tyrolean dominates the race ahead sharply l & rsquo; idol Ed Podivinsky and G & uuml; nther Mader before the weather change favoring those who start with high numbers. Fortunately time Runggaldier not & egrave; beatable, with only AJ Kitt & ndash; bib number 54 & ndash; that approaches placing second trailing by 11 cents; also fits the young Austrian Christian Greber, ending third getting his best ever result in the World Cup and depriving the home crowd of the joy of the podium of PodivÃnský.
For Runggaldier is the first career victory, a result that comes perhaps a bit & rsquo; too late for a talent that had demonstrated his skills from an early age, winning the medal & rsquo; silver in the downhill at the World Championships in Saalbach of 1991. With the points forfeited, l & rsquo; Tyrolean leaps also leads the championship specialty & agrave; with 216 points, ahead of Mader 47 and the rest of the world by more than 100, an important advantage when in calendar are theoretically three other super-G.
The stellar weekend for the colors blue & egrave; completed by the sixth place of Peter Vitalini, while Werner Perathoner and Alessandro Fattori end up outside when they were perfectly in the fight for a place among the very first. Points for Kristian Ghedina, who however in super-G fails to match the good done downhill ending twenty-first, and for reviving Patrick Holzer, a guy in this specialty & agrave; had won in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in January 1992 but that over the years & ndash; also due to several injuries & ndash; will turn & agrave; in gigantista Italian pi & ugrave; strong dell & rsquo; immediate after-Grave; Holzer ends in twenty-seventh place.
Two wins from two races, leadership Runggaldier in super-G standings, second place Ghedina in the descent than usual Alberto Tomba remains master of the general classification and those of giant slalom. Few would have imagined that the first weekend in North America could give satisfaction similar to the color blue. In fact instead salter & agrave; the two days of Aspen: due to bad weather the superG not disputer & agrave ;, while the descent will come & agrave; stopped after 31 competitors, with the result that will remain & agrave; sub judice for weeks before finally being cleared.
