If the women's World Cup risks not starting even on 12 November, with the parallel of Lech / Zuers (followed the next day by the men's one) still at risk, after the cancellations of Soelden and the speed opening of Zermatt-Cervinia, we can rest assured that, on the weekend of November 19-20, everything will be ready for the expected Levi slalom.
In Finland, in fact, the situation of the "Levi Black" is really good, so much so that the organizers of the classic specialty opening, dedicated only to women for a couple of years now, have already proceeded yesterday to cross the track. in order to guarantee high quality training for all the national teams that will be in Levi as early as the next few hours, with the possibility of working on the race slope up to a week before the event, when everything will be "sealed" by the FIS.
The last cancellation of the snow competitions of the Lapland area dates back to 2015, but now the experience of the local committee, with the snowfarming technique that has guaranteed the cup races even in the most difficult years in terms of preparation of the mantle snowy, it is consolidated and this year there was also the help of quite favorable temperatures.
The FIS snow check is scheduled for Thursday 10 November, but it will essentially be a formality in this case, trusting that in the following ten days there will be no problems to keep a "Levi Black" in good condition ready to host the first, double great challenge among the champions of rapid gates.
In the last four occasions Petra Vlhova has won, with two goals signed in 2020 and 2021, on three occasions with Mikaela Shiffrin in second place; naturally the Slovak Olympic champion and winner 5 times in Finland (she also won in the 2017 edition), and the American queen on four occasions in Levi (the last in 2019), will be the most anticipated women together with the '' world champion Katharina Liensberger, Gisin, Holdener, Duerr, Swenn-Larsson and who knows how many others, also hoping for a blue flash.
The tracers will be, for race-1, from Germany and the Slovak brand, with Mauro Pini himself designing the 2nd heat for his Petra Vlhova. For the encore on Sunday 20 November, the technicians from Canada and Sweden have been appointed.
