The leader of the super-g ranking spoke about her plans on the Eurosport broadcast: "I will skip the giants of Semmering and Kranjska Gora, I reason for micro objectives and I feel I have reached full maturity".

Conscious, confident of her means as she had never been in her career, in what probably represents the best moment of her adventure in the white circus, after having conquered two podiums in just one weekend but, above all, having already demonstrated in a context she is unfavorable like Lake Louise, of having reached and being able to maintain a world-class level of quality in skiing, between downhill and super-g.
Elena Curtoni was interviewed by Gianmario Bonzi, Dario Puppo and Massimiliano Ambesi, last night's guest of the new episode of "Poligono 360", the weeks' in-depth analysis dedicated to winter disciplines at Eurosport. Sunday, with the second place in the super-g of Sankt Moritz worth the tenth podium in CdM, the Valtellina also conquered for the first time the red bib of leader of her favorite specialty.
And 48 hours earlier the third victory had arrived in the top circuit, in the shortened descent in the Engadine: "When the visibility is so flat in Sankt Moritz, you can't see the ground and even skiing in the warm-up is difficult - Elena says on that first day of the triptych - I was lucky with the light, in those cases I always use my instinct and I told myself to push while not seeing... anything.
The super g? I limited the damage at the top (giving 2 tenths to Shiffrin, in the end there will be 12 cents to beat the American, ed), but I think I lost her on the last jump; I gleaned just before the cog and pulled my foot up in the last few corners, not being able to push as much as I would have liked. After all, that's okay, because I could have landed the other way around...”.
In general, Curtoni feels “satisfied for having been constant over the three days, despite a little fever. I was skiing well already from the North American trip, it was a confirmation".
And on short-medium term plans: “I decided in recent days to also skip the giants of Kranjska Gora (in addition to those at the end of the month in Semmering), so I will return to St. Anton in mid-January, then there will be Cortina. These are two very important weekends of speed, also to have good sensations towards the World Championships, which are the great objective which I don't want to think too much about. It takes micro objectives to materialize, so I really think race by race."
Elena knows well what it means to recover from injuries, but she has another example at home with Sofia Goggia: “We know she is particularly good at getting organized – she commented on the broken hand followed by the triumph in the second descent on Saturday – The older you get, the better you handle obstacles: she was special, but I'm not surprised because you can expect anything from her.
Now we have 3 red bibs, with Sofia and Marta: I think we should all take a picture together, it's very beautiful and expresses our group, strong in many disciplines".
