Green light for the Piedmontese organization, in view of the two technical races (giant and slalom) on 10-11 December on the "Kandahar G.A. Agnelli".

On Thursday 30 June and Friday 1 July, the summer inspection of the FIS board was held in Sestriere. Two intense and fruitful days of work, given that the various organizational aspects were examined in detail in view of the great return of the Women's World Cup at the Colle. There are just over 5 months left for the double challenge on the Olympic slopes of the Vialattea: Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December 2022 will be staged giant and slalom on the “Kandahar G.A. Agnelli ", where in January 2020 Federica Brignone and Petra Vlhova triumphed between the wide doors with a sensational ex-aequo (and with Mikaela Shiffrin third to a cent!), While the parallel giant of the following day gave the surprise of the first and only success in the career of Clara Direz. The managers of FIS, FISI and Infront were present at the inspection, and they met with the management of the local Organizing Committee chaired for the third consecutive edition by Gualtiero Brasso. Last Thursday, in the late afternoon, a first technical operational meeting was held, while on the following day the actual inspection took place along the race track and at all the locations involved in the event to identify the best solutions on the field. and guidelines to follow. The day ended with an official meeting with the Mayor of Sestriere, Gianni Poncet, reflecting the close synergy with the territory and the importance of working together to achieve the best final result in organizing the event. Once the approval of the FIS has been received and the final design details have been defined, now we can proceed to the operational phase. “I am very satisfied with these two days dedicated to the FIS inspection which were positive and particularly useful - commented Gualtiero Brasso, President of the local Organizing Committee - In the phase of approaching the races it is important to analyze the work program in detail. Many ideas and many projects have been examined with particular attention to opt for the best choices and arrive prepared for the prestigious event that will bring the image of our territory and the mountains of Piedmont all over the world ".
