The most awaited champion at home in Austria is ready to return to the race on November 30th in Killington.

More than ten months after the umpteenth knee-high crash in training in Val di Fassa last January, Anna Veith will be competing in the second seasonal giant in Vermont, after missing the opening in Soelden.
At age 30, the Salzburg champion still wants to try to get at least some weighty victories, aware that fighting for crystal balls could now be impossible, after the thousand physical troubles of the last four years; Anna talked about it at ServusTV, during the transmission dedicated to the Alpine skiing season aired at the Salzburg Hangar-7 and in which Alexis Pinturault was also a guest.
"Now I just want to enjoy the pleasure of skiing, but after the last injury I started working with the same desire as before to be ready for the race. I am serene and eager to return, "said the winner of two absolute and Olympic World Cups in super-g in Sochi 2014.
"Soelden arrived too early, I had only a few days of skiing to think about competing, but my fitness is good and the goal is to be in Killington. The training sessions to be held in the previous weeks in North America will be important, to understand which level I can expect in the race â€.
Veith will not compete, at least for now, in downhill: excluding the participation in the two descents of Lake Louise, with the focus set on giant and super-g (difficult to participate in the third and final fast race in Canada, ed). "It takes a long time to get ready in the speed disciplines, I haven't had any so far and the most important thing is to compete again with confidence".
On the long-term deadline of a career that many had given up after the last, terrible crusader injury, the 30-year-old Austrian champion sets no limits: “I leave all possibilities open. The motivation is still there, otherwise I would not have come back another time, but a lot will depend on my performance and the growth I will be able to express to reach a certain level. But I think I can still have good years ahead of me. "
