Anna Veith confident for a return less complicated than in the past

The 29-year-old champion from Salzburg, injured in the right knee in mid-January, has already begun with major work of strength and could begin to get serious in the summer

Not even three months after the operation in Innsbruck in mid-January, a few hours after the umpteenth knee injury, in a training session in Pozza di Fassa (among other things, without falling ...), Anna Veith is already left to return once more. The Salzburg champion soon put his touring skis back on to try the sensations in the snow, and is already able to perform some important strength training sessions in the gym; compared to the very serious accident that occurred in October 2015 in Solden, a few days after the opening of a World Cup which arrived after winning the two previous crystal balls, the lesion of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee seems less serious and with a faster recovery. After that stop, in fact, Anna came back to win in the circuit (super-g of the Val d''Isere in December 2017), besides touching the Olympic gold always in SG, but she has always struggled to find her automatisms especially in giant, at least before the last vintage that had seen her return to the top ten, right up to the Pozza di Fassa stop. The 29-year-old from Adnet will now take a few weeks off and, for the heart of summer, she should be able to put the skis back on to begin a "normal" preparation, even though starting with caution. Seeing her again at the starting gate in Solden, on October 26th, could be more than a hypothesis.
