The final group of the “Pink Avalanche” arrives in Ushuaia: Zenere and the Italian speed skiers set to depart on Wednesday

Everything is ready for the departure of the last “Pink Avalanche” team bound for Ushuaia, following the elite team (albeit without Federica Brignone) and the giant slalom team, without Martina Peterlini—in other words, the Women’s World Cup speed squad.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 2 September, the Italians will fly to Argentina, where they will remain until Friday 18 September, before spending two weeks entirely dedicated to downhill and super-G training in La Parva, until 2 October.

Technical director Gianluca Rulfi has called up seven athletes, led by the group’s long-standing head coach, Giovanni Feltrin, and coaches and trainers Giorgio Pavoni, Alberto Parola and Paolo Stefanini: they are Roberta Melesi, Sara Allemand, Sara Thaler, Nadia Delago, Nicol Delago, Asja Zenere and returning athlete Teresa Runggaldier, who is returning to the group for the first time after two full seasons on the sidelines following the terrible injury she sustained in training a few days before the Beaver Creek opening race (which will return as the opening event of the speed season in 2026/27), at the end of 2024 on the slopes of Copper Mountain, where the daughter of former champion and fellow Val Gardena native suffered a torn ACL and a fractured fibula in her right leg.
