From this Sunday, the Piedmontese champion will be at work in Limone Piemonte, on the Piancani and Pian del Leone slopes in the Riserva Bianca, for a decidedly important training in view of the next goal concerning the two super-gs of 11 and 12 December in Sankt Moritz. Marta will prepare the races in the Engadine by training, at least in the first two days, with Tessa Worley and Coralie Frasse Sombet, before finishing with an individual work followed by coach Daniele Simoncelli, the skiman Gianluca Petrulli, the athletic trainer Marco Giordano and Marta's father. , Maurizio Bassino.
There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about the calendar of races chosen for the parallel world champion: not so much for participation in the Lech / Zuers race, where indeed "Bax" has shown that in that discipline she can really do well with continuity, and not even for the renunciation of Lake Louise (as always happened in previous years), but for the trip to Levi with that double "zero" in the Finnish slalom, always quite far from the qualifying zone. Marta herself had said it on the eve of the day, the training between the narrow poles had been little and the sensations were not the best, it is no coincidence that it was then decided to give up this specialty for now, even if with the cancellation of the giant in Killington, certainly the next day did not see her at the starting gate.
Focus on giant and super-g, for an already very important month of December: the World Cup holder between the wide gates is actually skiing well, we saw for three quarters of the first heat in Soelden and also in that a little '' crazy last Saturday on the "Superstar", but luck was not exactly on his side and, between Sankt Moritz (a very technical track on which important results could also be achieved in a double commitment in speed) and Courchevel, who will recover the giant from Killington to join the one already planned on the Stade Emile-Allais where the Cuneo triumphed in 2020, there will be plenty of opportunities to grab that first awaited seasonal podium.
In the past few hours, Bassino has received another not inconsiderable recognition: the blue has been included among the five athletes nominated for the woman of the year award at the Gazzetta Sports Awards. The winner will be announced on 14 December, with the world champion who will "challenge" another world champion and fellow countryman, the cyclist Elisa Balsamo, the rowing Olympians, Federica Cesarini and Valentina Bodini, the silver five look for Vanessa Ferrari and another Olympic gold medalist in Tokyo 2020, the walker Antonella Palmisano.
