Back from a short vacation, the space of the last weekend alone together with friends, between Capri and Naples, Sofia Goggia has already returned to sweat in the gym since the beginning of the week, after having put together a few days of skiing on the snows of the Stelvio. With the preparation for the next season already in full swing, tonight there will be time for the Olympic downhill champion at PyeongChang 2018, for an appointment that will bind her even more to her city: the mayor of Bergamo, Giorgio Gori, on behalf of the municipal administration has in fact obtained the possibility of finally rewarding Sofia, anticipating the ceremony that usually takes place at the end of the year (when, naturally due to the skiing commitments, Goggia was never able to attend) for the delivery of merits and various titles for orobic sportsmen. The three-time winner of the Downhill World Cup will therefore receive the gold medal of the municipality of Bergamo for the results obtained, during the event organized at 18.00 at the Teatro Sociale of the city (ceremony open to the public, but only on reservation). And there will also be the preview screening of an unpublished documentary dedicated to the Italian champion. On the other hand, enthusiasts will find in Gubbio, on Thursday 30 June, Marta Bassino on the pedals: the parallel world champion, in fact, will be the special guest of the "Appennino Bike Tour" stage, with the possibility to everyone (the ride is open to the public without limitations) to experience an afternoon with the Cuneo champion, starting from the Roman Theater of the Umbrian town at 3.00 pm tomorrow.
