At Passo San Pellegrino the perfect super-g of Fede, who returns to exult over a year after the combined Crans-Montana. His words after reaching the Valtellinese and the little regrets of Curtoni, Marsaglia and Bassino.

A dream result for the whole team, with 4 athletes among the top 6 (and the career top of Roberta Melesi, great 16th), even if for different reasons Elena Curtoni, Francesca Marsaglia and Marta Bassino may regret not having caught a podium that seemed really within reach.
The troubled super-g who finished three days in Val di Fassa otherwise exceptional from every point of view, however, represented the day of Federica Brignone's rebirth; the first pearl of a very difficult season for the World Cup holder means a lot, also because it allows the Aosta Valley to reach none other than Deborah Compagnoni at 16, at the top of the multiple victors in Italian history as regards the women's sector.
Fede is the third Italian to win this season after Goggia and Bassino, the first in super-g as Marta Bassino and Sofia Goggia have signed a poker of successes each between giant and descent. "Finally I managed to get off thinking only about my skiing - Brignone explained to Rai Sport microphones - Win at home, after the World Championships gone badly and two descents here in Val di Fassa where I had not achieved anything, although I really liked the track, it's really nice. Today I dared, at the same time having respect in a couple of important steps ".
And again Faith thought: "I was not hungry for victory, but only the desire to put on track what I was doing in training: it is a success that makes me understand that the work done is not to be thrown away, I killed myself with a greater commitment right this season. The 16 wins of Compagnoni? A good goal, but I hope it doesn't end there: I want to be competitive for a few more years ”.
Elena Curtoni finished just 6 cents from Suter's third place, but with a serious mistake that cost several tenths: “I should have risked less in that passage, otherwise it was all to push and beautiful to ski. I was wrong, too bad ”. Francesca Marsaglia smiles instead for a 5th place that feels like a restart: “I have had difficult days, I couldn't find the feeling, but inside I knew that if I continued to work my ski would arrive.
In hindsight, I could have risked a little more because the conditions were fabulous. For the second time this year the podium is just a step away ... ”.
Finally Marta Bassino, sixth but with the second absolute time until the last intermediate: “I knew I would have left something in the final, but I'm happy because today I enjoyed skiing, a beautiful super-g. And I'm happy with the team result in general ”.
