Second European Cup slalom in Zell am See canceled: next races in Val Sarentino

After the trio of Aline Danioth and the splendid 4th place of Beatrice Sola, nothing to do today in the Salzburg area. For Della Mea and Gulli the Olympic mission can begin, while on February 3 and 4 here are the two super-gs of Reinswald (with the men involved in the giants of Reiteralm).

It hadn't been easy to take home yesterday's race already, but today's additional rainfall meant that she missed the second women's European Cup slalom in Zell am See. The encore on the Salzburg snows was canceled (last week the super-g of St. Anton was also missed), after race-1 saw Aline Danioth dominate again, ahead of Chiara Mair, Elena Stoffel and a fantastic Beatrice Sola, fourth and to the best result of his career, at only 18 years old ... Lara Della Mea, who finished ninth, and Anita Gulli, practically out of the race after the first heat, will now be able to think directly of the Olympic Games mission, leaving in the next few hours for China in view of the five-circle slalom on 9 February. For the Tarvisian, among other things, after seven races out of the ten scheduled (if the race canceled today is not recovered) there is third place in the specialty ranking, with 273 points against Aline Danioth's 300, who he has had his fill in the last three races, and just behind the other Swiss Elena Stoffel. The calendar of the European Cup now offers four races on the days of February 3 and 4: on Thursday and Friday, in fact, the girls will be engaged in the Reinswald area, in Val Sarentino, for a double super-g, while the men will go to Reiteralm, after seeing the super-g of Garmisch-Partenkirchen canceled (a real shame for Giovanni Franzoni, who aims for the top of the general), for two giants.
