The week of the finals begins: the startlist of the 1st downhill test, Goggia leads the blue

Monday (11.30) on the new "Eclipse" of Courchevel the first training towards Wednesday's descent. Sofia with the number 11, precedes her rival Suter (9). Also on the track Vlhova and Shiffrin, who will play the general.

Here we are, it is already time to think about the week of the World Cup finals which, weather permitting, finally return to that after two very tormented seasons. The theater is that of Courchevel-Méribel, which in 2023 will then host the world championships. The first races will be, as usual, the two descents where the situation is still open from a specialty cup perspective, even if among women Sofia Goggia has an important margin (75 pt) compared to Corinne Suter, the only one who can still contend for the trophy (and a historic three of a kind). Monday on the very tough “Eclipse” in Courchevel, the first of the two tests scheduled at 11.30. Priska Nufer will open, with Nadia Delago (bib 7) before the blue five at the gate. Suter will have 9, then Goggia with 11 followed by Curtoni and Brignone, while Gut-Behrami will have 16 and 17 in this first training. Marta Bassino also entered with 26, departing shortly after the two contenders for the absolute crystal ball: Petra Vlhova, who must recover 56 points from Mikaela Shiffrin, will test this new technical context before her rival, coming out of the gate with the number 21 while the US will have 25 (as well as in the race).
