Due to the weather conditions (snow forecast also tomorrow morning), the first world championship race scheduled for Monday will start with the slalom at 11.00, followed by the super-g at 14.30. Brignone and Bassino in the first sub-group, high bibs instead for Vlhova and Shiffrin. The blue quartet completed by Curtoni and Marsaglia is official.

The decision has already been made official a few hours before the captains' meeting scheduled for 5.00 pm and where the first bib extraction of this world championship will take place in Cortina.
As was already rumored yesterday, the decision has arrived to reverse the heats of the women's alpine combined which will open the world championship program, and it is an element that can substantially change the balance of the race: it will start at 11.00 therefore with the slalom, followed at 2.30 pm by the super-g, given that more snow is coming after that fall today on Olympia delle Tofane.
It changes a lot because, if in case of super-g heats at the opening, Petra Vlhova and Mikaela Shiffrin would still have returned to the top 20 starting (despite not having specialty WCSL points, the many absences would have brought them back to 30 and then exploiting the 400 points in the general WCSL), while in this case they will start after the first 15 and on a track that, probably, could already be damaged.
There will be a draw for the first sub-group that sees Federica Brignone as protagonists, first in the WCSL of the discipline, and Marta Bassino, the two blue flagships of a race that will also see Elena Curtoni and Francesca Marsaglia at the starting gate, made official by the FISI for the team which will open the Italian World Cup.
