After a few days spent in Albania, with various matches linked to the country for which he chose to compete, the 2006 Piedmontese class left with the family for Finland; Yesterday, in fact, Lara took to the track for the first time on the “Levi Black” to prepare for a debut that will arrive at 16 years and 4 days, given that on November 15th she will celebrate her birthday (on the same day as Sofia Goggia).
A Levi is already at the side of the woman he has always admired as a champion of reference, Mikaela Shiffrin (who has spent important words for Colturi in recent weeks), who toasted the first race held in CdM at ... almost 16 years old, seen that on 11 March 2011 at Spindleruv Mlyn, the American star took to the track 48 hours before crossing the symbolic finish line.
Lara Colturi will be the first girl to compete in the maximum circuit with the colors of Albania and the goal will be solely to gain experience, even if the points area may not be impossible, for a talent who, clearly in a well different and of a much lower level than the World Cup, he showed in his first approaches in FIS competitions that he can already fight not too far from worthy athletes such as Swedes, French and the Italians themselves. The real first confrontation with them took place in the last South American Cup slalom, the South American circuit of which Lara also conquered the general classification, in Cerro Castor with a 9th and a 5th place arrived after the successes of Cerro Catedral and La Parva, when the competition was clearly different.
After Levi, Colturi will not go to North America for the technical races in Killington, but will aim for the European Cup circuit which will be the real focus of his first season among the big ones, starting with the pairing of technical races (giant and slalom) planned on 28-29 in Mayrhofen, Austria.
The goal is to lower the bibs (in CE, however, it will start already close to thirty), to then see it again perhaps as early as December in the World Cup.
