The Organizing Committee of the now traditional stage of the Women's World Cup at Plan de Corones, led by President Danny Kastlunger, in its meeting last night officially decided to admit the public to the highly anticipated giant of Tuesday 25 January on the splendid “Erta ".
“It didn't take long to make this decision - Kastlunger begins - as we all want to go back to living a race as normal as possible and by ensuring compliance with the rules in force it will be possible”.
For the fifth edition of this event, 500 spectators will be admitted to the VIP area, including sponsors, authorities and guests of honor. The Super Green Pass is required for access to the race and the large outdoor area has controlled access, without permission to administer food and drinks. The additional 1,500 spectators will be admitted to the area next to the finish area, which guarantees a large surface per capita, in line with the anti Covid-19 regulations.
The titles that guarantee access are however already assigned, so as to discourage those who do not have them from going to San Vigilio di Marebbe for the competition. For those who ski at Plan de Corones, on the other hand, it is possible to stop by the slope to watch the race, respecting the rules of conduct and avoiding crowds. Security personnel will supervise on site and enforce the rules if necessary. In any case, the organizers advise all spectators to take an anti Covid-19 test the day before the race, for everyone's maximum safety.
The program foresees the start of the first heat at 10.30, while the second will start at 13.30. In addition to rewarding the winner with the now classic crown of Princess Dolasilla and all three champions on the podium with a beautiful magnum bottle of Prosecco Ponte, one of the supporters of the first hour of the sporting event, the CO this year proposes a Announcements. For the athlete who will qualify for the second run with the highest bib, the organizers provide a bonus of 2,000 euros in addition to the prize provided for his placement. "In addition to the victory and the podium, we also want to reward a particular performance, preferably a young team who will experience a moment of special success at Plan de Corones, breaking into the finalists with a bib, which normally does not grant great chances", explains Danny Kastlunger .
On the technical front, the crossing of the race track was brought forward to Thursday 20 January, to take advantage of the lower temperatures expected for mid-week. From Saturday 22 the anti Covid-19 test procedures will begin for all those who, within the organization, will have direct contact with the so-called "red bubble" which contains World Cup athletes and technicians.
