Green light for the women's World Cup races scheduled on the Austrian snow in the first half of the inaugural month of 2023.
The FIS today officially confirmed the double appointment between Flachau and St. Anton: in the first case, an appointment in the Salzburg area, at Hermann Maier's home, for the now traditional slalom, the eighth of the season, scheduled Tuesday 10 January with first heat at 18.00 and the second at 20.45.
Last year everything skipped due to the covid emergency in the area, with the pink circus moving exceptionally to Schladming, while the previous ones speak of Mikaela Shiffrin's fourth triumph in 2021 (after having already won in 2013, 2014 and 2018), with Petra Vlhova who instead managed to beat her in the 2019 and 2020 editions.
In the same week, all in St. Anton for the return of speed almost a month after the triptych of Sankt Moritz: on the snow of the Arlberg, on the menu here is the fifth cup descent, Saturday 14 January starting at 11.00 (with two tests on Thursday 12 and Friday 13), and the third super-g of the year at 11.30 on Sunday 15.
Last time for the girls here in 2021, when Sofia Goggia literally dominated the descent, with almost a second margin over Tippler and Johnson's 3rd place (great 5th Laura Pirovano), before going out in the super-g which saw Lara rejoice Gut-Behrami in front of Marta Bassino, splendid second, and Corinne Suter.
