The Swiss newspaper, which had given the news of the vaccination carried out by the Ticino woman only in late October, explains how the second dose arrived in time to leave for the United States. Next Saturday the giant on the "Superstar", then Lara will go to Lake Louise for a pivotal speed triptych.

Lara Gut-Behrami will compete next Saturday in the Killington giant.
The confirmation comes from "Blick", who through his sources had already explained a few weeks ago that the champion of Comano had decided to get vaccinated (after having been reticent for fears related to side effects), but with the high risk of losing the Killington weekend since he had practically waited for the start of the World Cup, until he confirmed that the double dose would be necessary to play the North American races, from the Killington stage to the next one in Lake Louise.
Apparently, Lara received the first dose in mid-October, but to meet the timing (double vaccination two weeks before entering the States) it was necessary to bring the second dose earlier than the canonical deadline (four weeks, but with the vaccine Pfizer can be earned). The athlete did not want to comment on the matter, as indeed he decided to do since the opening weekend in Soelden, but everything went well to fly overseas and face four races already decisive to stay fighting for the absolute World Cup.
Gut-Behrami, in fact, will clearly be among the big favorites in the giant on Saturday on the "Superstar" of Killington, after having frightened on the Rettenbach with the 2nd place just a stone's throw from Mikaela Shiffrin, even if the technical context of the track in Vermont it will be very different. Then, the Ticino-born will be in Lake Louise for the opening triptych of the speed season, on a track she loves and where she has already won three times in super-g (2013, 2014 and 2016), the race that will close on Sunday 5 December. '' Canadian appointment after the two descents on Friday 3 and Saturday 4.
