In the shadow of the Matterhorn, however, together with the new personal coach Luca Agazzi we are starting to work with long skis, since after a couple of days of adaptation, yesterday the winner of the Downhill World Cup trained in super -g, replying today in conditions that are really good, according to Sofia herself.
The rider from Bergamo, who is alternating training in the snow and cycling every afternoon, was intercepted by Paolo De Chiesa directly on the track. “Yes, for the first time since the World Cup finals I have worn long skis. I have to brush up on the long curve after having carried out low-intensity technical work to rebalance myself, since since mid-January I have practically skied on one leg ".
At the TGR della Valle d'Aosta, Goggia further explained: “It is my third summer block and I am happy because, despite the prevailing heat of the period, the conditions are optimal. The cup descents here (on 5-6 November with the historic debut of the "Speed Opening" in Zermatt / Cervinia on the Gran Becca, ed)? It will be a long and grueling race, we hope to do it as these temperatures are eating up the glacier. Between now and November a lot of water will pass under the bridges, but I can say that in general, here in Cervinia the situation is good thanks to the work of the pisteurs who keep the snow.
It is clear that this heat complicates the plans, personally it is important to put work in your pocket now, then at the end of August we will go to Ushuaia and winter ... is approaching ”.
