The analysis of the woman from Bergamo, sixth in the second super-g of Sankt Moritz and for the first time down from the podium in five speed races. "I should have done more." Second overall, Sofia will be on the Oreiller-Killy with two red bibs.

It is strange to consider it a result below expectations, but the impressive roadmap of this start of the season immediately made us think that Sofia Goggia was not able to express herself at her levels in the second speed round in Sankt Moritz, in a super-g completely different from that of the previous day, where the Italian champion came within a whisker of Lara Gut-Behrami.
If for the Ticino the day was clearly to be forgotten with the flight over the nets and a heavy "zero" in view of the World Cup (fortunately there should be no particular physical damage, even if a definitive diagnosis is awaited from Swiss -Ski), the sixth place is certainly not to be thrown away for Sofia, considering that now the Bergamo rider is again solo red bib, with 40 points on Gut-Behrami and 43 on Brignone, and increasingly second in the general, just 90 points by Mikaela Shiffrin.
And on the horizon there are two other fast races, in Val d''Isère next Saturday and Sunday, on the Oreiller-Killy one where Goggia was second and first downhill. "Skiing is also this, today was not my race - the Olympic champion told Rai Sport - A race with a lowered start and conditioned by the wind, which blew more in some descents than in others, but I have to complain of having skidded before the third intermediate, I arrived with little speed, which is why I lost so much.
Too bad because, despite a sixth place, I'm not satisfied with myself, I know I can do more. Now we will go to Val d''Isère, but first we will train in Sestriere ”.
