The World Cup rankings after the first super-g in Garmisch-Partenkirchen: the 29-year-old from Comano could already close the games for the crystal ball of the specialty on Sunday, but it is the general who attracts all the attention.

More and more intense, more and more fought. It is the challenge for the absolute World Cup at the women's level, even more so after today's race that opened the Garmisch weekend (hoping that tomorrow we can finish regularly with the other super-g scheduled).
With 360 points collected in the last four races, Lara Gut-Behrami has ignited the fight for the crystal ball: now the Ticino, climbed to second place ahead of compatriot Michelle Gisin, absent for the stage in Bavaria, is sailing just 62 points from Petra Vlhova, who collected a decent 10th place in today's super-g, but which lacks the heavy points of the giant and, clearly, the calendar will then be favorable again only in March with the final four slaloms.
Overtaking, which arrives tomorrow or in the post-world championship with the speed triptych in Val di Fassa, is therefore a necessity for Gut-Behrami, as well as for any other contenders (except for Gisin, who is now playing slalom on par with Petra) starting with Sofia Goggia. The Bergamo rider returned to fourth position, also taking advantage of the today's exit of Marta Bassino, who instead pays almost 200 points from Vlhova and clearly sees her prices drop as does Federica Brignone, over 300 behind.
Gut-Behrami who could close the accounts for what would be his third crystal ball in super-g already with the next race, but will have to hope, in addition to winning, that Suter does not do better than a 6th place and that the same Ledecka does not enter the 4 as well as Federica Brignone on the podium.
In WCSL, Sofia Goggia has risen to 7th place (and in view of the world super-g it is important to defend this result), Elena Curtoni remains tenth, just ahead of Vlhova and Venier.
