Lara Colturi is one of the most anticipated talents for the future of Italian skiing, but now it is better to speak in the past in this sense; yes, because the very young Piedmontese skier, born in 2006, went straight on her way and opted for a sensational choice, that of competing for another country, namely Albania.
The FIS has formalized, with the change in its database, the change of nationality of the daughter of art, followed for years by her mother Daniela Ceccarelli (her father is Alessandro Colturi, another former blue) in the Golden Team who prepared a high professional level program. Whether or not this type of preparation is questionable at that age, the decision to forge ahead by skipping the path that the FISI had planned for the girl, inserting her among the other in the "Observed" group (together with rival of many battles in recent years, the contemporary Giorgia Collomb) from which, of course, she has now been removed.
Apparently, the FISI until yesterday was still expecting a reverse from the family, but it did not and, among other things, still having to reach the age of 16 (Lara will cross that milestone next 15 November), there is not even a need for authorization from the federation of belonging for the change of nationality.
Lara Colturi is ambassador of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games and, considering that she will arrive at that appointment at 19, the dream of already being there as a good athlete is now a goal. It will not, however, with the blue colors and this is the saddest aspect of a truly sensational story.
