The “Black Panther” continues working at J Medical: D’Antonio moves closer to her return to skiing at the end of summer

A “Black Panther” taking great strides towards her return, namely her return to the snow around the end of summer, when just over 6 months will have passed since the serious injury she suffered on Saturday, 14 February in Dobbiaco, during the training session between the two races at the Games scheduled for her. The cruciate ligament in her right knee gave way during the final tune-up session for the Olympic giant slalom, which the Campanian athlete would not have raced anyway, as her event was the slalom the following Wednesday, later won by Federica Brignone.

Giada D’Antonio is doing well, better all the time, and the staff at J Medical in Turin is now guiding her through the return-to-fitness phase to complete a recovery in which there is immense confidence.

The 2009-born talent from San Sebastiano al Vesuvio has been included in the federation’s squads for the 2026/27 season as part of the European Cup team of slalom and giant slalom specialists, together with Mathiou, Pomaré, Sola, Bieler, Carolli, Guerinoni and another highly anticipated young athlete, Klotz, the 2008-born South Tyrolean, just like Anna Trocker, who is already part of the World Cup technical-events team for preparation.

Giada has completed her first season in the FIS circuit, which immediately became a special one with her debut in the Nor-Am Cup and, above all, in the World Cup at the end of December in Semmering, followed by Flachau and then her third slalom appearance in Špindlerův Mlýn, when she missed qualification for the second run by just one hundredth. She earned her ticket to the home Olympic Games, where she had time to make her debut in the team combined.
