The "Goggia curve" at the Scarpadon? Fatal for Lisa Hoernblad: left knee destroyed

The diagnosis of the sprinter who fell badly (at the same point as Sofia) in the super-g of Cortina arrived in the evening from the Swedish federation. Rupture of anterior cruciate, collateral and meniscus.

That curve to the right, in the most shady area of the Olympia delle Tofane and in the heart of the "Scarpadon", was not only deadly for Sofia Goggia, with all the consequences we know, but by falling at that point, Lisa's season ended Hoernblad. It was immediately understood that it was something very serious for the Swedish sprinter born in 1996, the verdict sanctioned after the visit made in Milan is devastating: rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, the medial collateral and the internal meniscus of the left knee. Now Lisa will be transported to Sweden and, after further examinations, operated on in the next few days to then begin the long recovery to try to return next season; a real shame given that the young Scandinavian was back this year, immediately at good levels (three downhill points finishes and a nice 18th place in Lake Louise), after being away from the World Cup for two whole seasons following the first, terrible injury to the crusader, in that case of the right knee, suffered in 2019.
