Giustina Demetz turns 80 today, the first Italian (including the men's sector) to win a race in the history of the World Cup. Born on April 27, 1941 in Santa Cristina, Val Gardena doc, she imposed herself on March 3, 1967 in the descent of Sestriere, at the same time with the French Marielle Goitschel, in a race that assigned the combined Arlberg-Kandahar on the occasion.
A result that contributed in that season to make her finish in third place in the downhill classification. In his career he took part in two editions of the Olympics: in Innsbruck 1964 (review that was also valid for the World Championships) he finished 11th in downhill and 14th in giant, in Grenoble 1968 he was 13th in downhill and 14th in giant, at the World Championships in Portillo 1966 instead she was fifth in combined, sixth in giant, seventh in downhill and 21st in slalom.
Her competitive career ended with a fall on the home track of Val Gardena, in which her fibula fractured, an injury that prevented her from participating a few weeks later in the world championship scheduled on her snow. His palmarés also includes ten absolute Italian titles. Married to Edward Putzer, she has two sons, Christian and Philipp, who run the family business that distributes brands for alpine skiing, biking, golf, outdoor and lifestyle equipment.

A Dobbiaco, invece, le 10 km in alternato hanno regalato il successo a Davide Graz e Maria Gismondi, all'interno della cornice della Nordic Arena per quella che è stata la prima tappa della Coppa Italia invernale.
