On the "glass" of Podkoren the weekend of Kranjska Gora will open on Saturday, with the fourth last giant of the women's World Cup season, which replaces the classic Slovenian stage for women, that of Maribor (without snow).
And it could be a crucial day for the Italians, Federica Brignone in the first place, a special red bib and only 145 points from Mikaela Shiffrin, also absent in this stage after the tragic death of Dad Jeff, in the general classification.
The Aosta Valley will start second, in the opening round scheduled at 10 am (track of the American technician Andersson, at 1 pm the decisive round based on a drawing by Prenn, who leads Switzerland); before her only Mina Fuerst Holtmann, to follow instead the return of Tessa Worley, who after the operation lost only the giant from Sestriere, a very dangerous Alice Robinson (even if in super-g in Garmisch she took a good hit falling, but she trained without problems), with Marta Bassino bib 5 and the duo Vlhova-Holdener to close the first sub-group, which does not even see Viktoria Rebensburg as protagonist, who ended the season as Sofia Goggia.
Speaking of the blue group, the other five protagonists will start very far and collected in a few numbers: Roberta Midali will have the bib number 43, followed with 44 by Luisa Bertani and the newcomer Francesca Fanti, the 21 year old from Mantua at the first in the World Cup with the 47. Finally Karoline Pichler (48), looking for a qualification in a difficult season, and Laura Pirovano with the 50.
