It's speed time again, a couple of weeks after St. Anton and that all blue downhill performance with the total domination of Sofia Goggia, replicated in part the next day by Marta Bassino with a great 2nd place in super- g. We return to Crans-Montana for a fundamental triptych also in the general World Cup key and on Mont Lachaux the memories are sweet in Italy, from the success of Goggia in 2019 to the combined poker, from 2017 onwards, of a Federica Brignone who he still wanted that race on the calendar so much, while he will end up with the two descents scheduled for Friday and Saturday and the super-g, added to the original program as a recovery of one of the two canceled in Sankt Moritz, scheduled for Sunday. We are moving towards the fourth and fifth descents of the season, with Sofia Goggia red breastplate and the obligatory favorite, even if in these parts queen Lara Gut-Behrami, author of the double in February 2020 (when the Bergamo was in the pits after a broken arm in Garmisch-Partenkirchen) ahead of Corinne Suter. The Ticinese chose the bib n ° 1 for tomorrow's training, the compatriot holder of the crystal ball instead the 5, while Johnson (the only one always on the podium in the three seasonal descents like Goggia, even if the American concluded on the step lower both in the two races in Val d''Isère and in St. Anton) will start with the 7 before Vlhova, Ledecka and Gisin. Both Petra and Michelle will be part of the match in all the races of the Crans-Montana triptych, where Mikaela Shiffrin will not yet be present (speed re-entry possible in Garmisch, but it's more no than yes). From bib 13 to 17, curiously all lined up between bib choices and draw for even numbers, the first five blue at the starting gate with Curtoni (here on the podium in super-g in 2017), Pirovano (splendid 5th downhill in St. Anton, best result of his career), Goggia with 15, Bassino with 16, remembering that the Cuneo-based woman will almost certainly not play the second descent on Saturday, and Brignone with 17 before Tippler and Ortlieb, perhaps the two best cards in home Austria, and Francesca Marsaglia (bib 20) who will return after the "blows" accused by falling in the final of the super-g on the "Franz Klammer".
