Ariane Raedler's star rises higher and higher: here is the first podium. "The most beautiful day..."

The Austrian sprinter is now a reality: 5th in Sankt Moritz, 3rd yesterday in the super-g of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and with a view to the Olympic Games, in the women's Wunderteam that has not yet won any races this season.

Ariane Raedler has climbed one step at a time, silently, taking her place in a speed team, that of Austria, certainly rich even if after the thousand injuries suffered in recent seasons by Schmidhofer, Ortlieb and Huetter in particular, less competitive so much so that no successes have yet arrived in the season (to tell the truth, the entire women's sector is still at zero level with some disappointments too arrived from Liensberger). This girl born in '95 (next Thursday she will be 27 years old), arrived from Vorarlberg, is now a beautiful reality and the first podium in the World Cup, arrived in the super-g of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, is only a consequence of the level reached, already shown in Sankt Moritz with a 5th place in the same discipline, or last Saturday in descent, touching the top ten. The Olympic Games? At this point it is difficult to think not to take it, also because yesterday Ariane was really amazing to invent that performance starting second, without any reference on a really tough track to finish just 17 cents behind Federica Brignone. “Slowly I am realizing it - he told oesv.at - The podium is a great dream, many believed in me and supported me; I am happy to be able to give them something in return. It is definitely the best day of my career so far, it is the first and also in a home race - I am simply very happy ”.
