In training one week after the opening, the blue who has grown a lot last season has got a right knee injury that compromises everything.

Italy loses, for the whole season leading up to the Beijing Olympics, one of its best cards for the speed sector, but which would have already competed next Saturday in the giant of Soelden. Just a week after the opening on the Rettenbach, in training on the snows of the Oetztal, Laura Pirovano got the most serious injury, namely the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of her right knee.
A blow for the 23-year-old from thirty, right after the splendid last season, that of Laura's explosion who touched the podium several times in the World Cup, with a fourth and two fifth places downhill. Everything now stops, the long recovery will have to start soon, and there remains only a lot of bitterness and the hope of seeing one of the great blue talents again soon.
