Three amazing blue women with a red bib that gives a lot, as leaders of specialties between downhill, super-g and giant.
Sofia Goggia, Elena Curtoni and Marta Bassino are heading towards the end of 2022 in first place in their respective rankings, even if the Cuneo area will have to confirm herself, to enter the new year as number 1 between the wide doors, on the occasion of the two giants scheduled for 27 and 28 December in Semmering. Not surprisingly, Marta is back on track, without any rest 24 hours after the bitter super-g in Sankt Moritz, when she went out while traveling in line with Shiffrin and Curtoni to play for something... big; appointment starting today in Ponte di Legno, on the black Casola slope which last week hosted the two European Cup rounds dominated by Asja Zenere.
Goggia at rest? Not even the time to return from the crazy weekend in Sankt Moritz and off on a flight from Bergamo to Rome. The reason? Sofia herself explained it on social media: “Since the last few days have not been turbulent enough, I took a plane to take an exam at my university, Luiss, where I study political science. Now we return to Milan, everything went well”.
The downhill leader will not go to Semmering, as was initially planned, to better treat that left hand fractured three days ago, probably returning to skis only at the end of the month or the first days of 2023.
Relaxing at home for Elena Curtoni, but also a television appointment for the Valtellinese triumphant in the first descent of Sankt Moritz and, with the second place in the super-g on Sunday, the new beacon of her favorite specialty; the blue will be the super guest of today's episode of "Poligono 360", the weekly in-depth program that Eurosport dedicates to winter disciplines.
Interviewed by Gianmario Bonzi, Dario Puppo and Massimiliano Ambesi, Elena will be the protagonist from 8.00 pm tonight on Eurosport 2, with a scheduled rerun at 11.00 pm and the subsequent podcast available on demand for all fans, where we will naturally also talk about all the other feats of the amazing blue weekend just ended.
