Levi ready for the girls' opening: for 48 hours all the big names have been working on the Finnish snow

Conditions ok for the two slaloms scheduled for November 19-20: from Vlhova to Shiffrin, from Liensberger to the Holdener-Gisin duo, on the "Levi Black" it's a show already in training. The blue ones until Thursday in Val Senales.

The cancellation of the parallels scheduled for next weekend in Lech / Zuers will force the World Cup to restart as it did three years ago, or directly four weeks after the Soelden opening. The women's slalom in Levi, scheduled for Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November (the two heats of race-1 at 10 and 13, the appointment for the encore at 10.15 and 13.15), will however represent the seasonal opening for the girls, who were unable to compete on the Rettenbach. On Thursday 10th there will be the snow control of the FIS in the Finnish town, but it will be pure formality as the “Levi Black” is ready in a complete way, despite the fact that the temperatures have also returned abundantly above 0 ° in the last few days. The conditions for training on the race track, until next Friday, are optimal and it is no coincidence that practically all the big expectations have already arrived at Levi for some time. Petra Vlhova, who signed the double of successes in both 2020 and 2021, has been working on it for four days now, Mikaela Shiffrin (who had already decided to avoid the parallel of Lech / Zuers as the Slovakian) and Katharina Liensberger since Saturday , but since last weekend the peaks of Switzerland and Sweden have also been on the track, from Holdener-Gisin to Swenn-Larsson and Hector, the Austrian national team as well as the Norwegian one or the German teams led by Lena Duerr. And the blue ones? Rossetti, Della Mea, Tschurtschenthaler, Haller, Gulli and Viviani, who will all be competing in Levi, have started a new meeting in Val Senales, scheduled until Thursday 10th before climbing north. In Finland there will be no Marta Bassino, who unlike 2021 and 2020 will not be part of the slalom opening match, aiming directly at the North American trip with focus on the Killington giant (where snow is scarce, but there are still ten days of time before the snow check towards the race on November 26th), as well as Martina Peterlini still needs time, fresh from the crusader break last December.
