Lila Lapanja and her first national title: her combo of Aspen, O''Brien comes out on the most beautiful

The great favorite derails in the slalom heats, so after 4 silvers comes the first gold at the level of the US championships for the 26-year-old, who burns Storm Klomhaus by only one cent. Grand finale now with giant and slalom.

An Alpine combined split in two days, due to the weather conditions that, on the snows of Aspen, had prevented us from also competing in the slalom heat on Tuesday, after the super-g dominated by Nina O''Brien. Between the tight posts came the big surprise, with the 23-year-old leaving the scene in search of her ninth national title, and here is that the first gold medal at the level of US championships went to Lila Lapanja, already bronze in super-g (and in her palmares there are four silvers in slalom) and winner with just one hundredth of a margin over Storm Klomhaus, who in turn had finished second yesterday in the speed test. Third place in the overall standings of the combined for the Canadian Kiara Alexander, while she finished sixth and third of the Americans Galena Wardle. Thursday with the giant and Friday in slalom the grand final of the US national championships.
