Lindy Anne Lund passed away today, the American champion gave the news who remembered her mother with a creepy social message.

"My sweet mom Lindy lost her battle against ALS."
A few simple, very painful words, at the beginning of a social message to announce the disappearance of the person closest to you. Lindsey Vonn lost her mother, ill for a year from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis which, unfortunately, had already totally conditioned the life of the one who gave birth, almost 38 years ago, one of the greatest champions in the history of skiing.
"She died peacefully while I was holding her hand, exactly one year after the diagnosis - continues the message of the four-time World Cup winner - I am so grateful for every moment spent with her, but I am also grateful that she no longer suffers and is finally in peace. She was a bright light that will never fade and I will always be inspired by it.

She is my inspiration not for what she has done for my skiing career, but for how her perpetual positivity has shaped me into who I am, especially off the slopes. Every adversity I have faced, I have found perspective and inspiration from her. The many difficulties of her life only made her stronger, kinder and humbler. That kind of grit is what has shaped me since I was a child; whether I knew at the time or not, I know now.
Mom, I hope to be as strong one day as you and I hope to approach each day with a lot of energy and optimism. I hope someday to raise my children as you amazingly did. I love you".
