Lindsey Vonn gets back on her road bike and... takes to the tennis courts in Newport

Lindsey Vonn is back on her road bike, as she showed on social media in recent days, thrilled to have had the right sensations to return to cycling on the road, something she has always loved, more than six months after the terrible accident in Cortina, and then headed to Newport over the weekend for a special event.

The Minnesota native was in fact selected among the stars who, alongside the great champions who have made racquet-sport history, took to the grass courts in Newport on the eve of the US Open, on the occasion of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

There is therefore good news regarding the physical recovery of the superstar who won the downhill races in Sankt Moritz and Zauchensee and dominated the discipline standings in the World Cup before her fall in the Games’ premier event, which caused very serious consequences to her left leg. The possibility of attempting a comeback in the winter of 2027/28 remains on the table, while she already knows she will be unable to do anything with regard to the upcoming competitive season.

LV84 also confirmed this last month while attending the World Cup football final in New Jersey, while this week Lindsey turned her thoughts back to the death of her mother, who passed away in 2022, dedicating a special message to her: “Four years without you, after there have recently been so many times when I wished I could ask you for advice, hold your hand and talk things through with you when I was struggling.

Cortina was the only Olympics you weren’t there for; it didn’t go as well as when you were there, but I was lucky and I know you played a major part in this (referring to the risk of amputation, which had been very real in the first hours after the accident, ed.). I miss you every day, Mom. I love you so much”.
