On the "Pohorje" there is very little snow, but the lowering of temperatures in these hours gives confidence to the OK at the World Cup stage on January 16-17.

St. Anton and Flachau, then ... Maribor? It is not guaranteed, but we are moving towards the confirmation of the two female giants scheduled in the Slovenian town on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January.
The snow conditions, as the attached photo, taken a couple of days ago, clearly indicates, remains critical but in the last few hours the lowering of temperatures should make it possible to prepare the "Pohorje" in time for the snow control which is been postponed to Friday (it was originally scheduled for today).
As his colleague Gianmario Bonzi confirmed, there is confidence in ensuring that the World Cup returns to Maribor, rather than turning to other possibilities (Kranjska Gora in primis, as happened last winter), two years after the last appearance on February 1-2, 2019. In that case, Petra Vlhova and Mikaela Shiffrin won ex aequo in giant, with the American to repeat herself in slalom.
The fourth and fifth seasonal giant, which become such considering the cancellation of Semmering (and the date and place of recovery are still awaited), could be decisive in the overall comparison, but the hope is that we can run in at least sufficient conditions. Unfortunately, in Maribor, history teaches that there are always many difficulties.
