A very long wait, for one of the most important talents of the international movement.
We will not see Melanie Meillard again in Killington's technical races, as the 21-year-old from Neuchatel has chosen to stay in Europe to train and, at this point, the most likely date for her return to the World Cup is December 17th, on the occasion of of the third seasonal giant in Courchevel.
The 21-year-old from Neuchatel, it should be remembered, has even pitted since January 30, 2018, when he competed in the Stockholm city event before flying to Korea for his first Olympic Games and suffering, in training at PyeongChang, the serious injury to his left knee which he will make it suffer for almost two years. In September 2018, in fact, a new operation was necessary (not without controversy for the management of the athlete), other months of stop and finally from last summer the resumption of training without particular pain or problems.
It is clear that Meillard needs a lot of training on the track and, last week, he had confided that the renunciation of Levi's slalom had been "painful, also because it is a race that I love, but I need km on skis for to be able to push 100%. After 650 days and a lot of rehabilitation, I will do everything to get back to you as soon as possible ".
