On 15 October 1970 the Swedish champion was born, twice Olympic, four times world champion and winner of the 1996/97 World Cup. One of the most complete female skiers in history.

An absolute champion, able to disengage herself in the same way in five different disciplines, making her at the top for a decade, that of the 90s, which saw her challenge many champions, including our Deborah Compagnoni who is part of that same and magnificent '70 class (and which we celebrated last June 4th on the occasion of his most special birthday).
Today, a star that still shines as Pernilla Wiberg, the greatest Swedish skier ever, crossed the milestone of half a century of life, before the only Anja Paerson came to inherit her role and take away some records in the 2000s. Pernilla was one of the greatest multipurpose players in history, she twice Olympic champion first in giant, in that Albertville 1992 race that marked the drama of Deborah Compagnoni, then combined in Lillehammer two years later and with the `` Nagano silver '' 98 downhill, touching a legendary trio.
Four world titles, starting with the giant of Saalbach ''91, the double of Sierra Nevada' '96 between slalom and combined, finally again in this last discipline in Vail ''99 where he also won the' silver in slalom , with the collection of six medals in world championship events completed by the bronze downhill in Sestriere 1997.
Wiberg really won everything, with the absolute crystal ball in the 1996/97 season, literally dominated with the slalom cup to dress it, and overall he took home 24 wins in the maximum circuit in the five disciplines, or 14 in slalom, 3 in combined, 3 in super-g, 2 in downhill and as many in giant, with 61 total podiums.
On 15 December 1999 the last downhill victory in Sankt Moritz, the last podium (a 2nd place) on 11 January 2002 (on the eve of his fourth Olympics in Salt Lake City) always in speed and in that Saalbach who eleven years earlier had made her known to the world as a little star about to be born.
