The last training session in Hintertux definitively sanctioned the eight convened for the Soelden opening.

Roberta Midali won the time-honored playoff with Laura Pirovano, winning the last blue bib available for the first giant of the 2019/2020 World Cup, scheduled on Saturday on the Rettenbach.
Bergamo, which had already done so well in the South American summer tests, will then support Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia, Marta Bassino, Karoline Pichler, Francesca Marsaglia, Roberta Melesi and Irene Curtoni.
We see the situation for each of the Italian girls at the level of starting number for Soelden: if for Federica Brignone there are no problems for the start in the first sub-group of merit, with her 5th place in WCSL, Marta Bassino must officially wait for the forfeiture of Ragnhild Mowinckel (who has put the skis back on for only three weeks, but for which the convocations are expected from the Norwegian federsci before ratifying the 'absence that is given however for certain) to enter among the first 7, being octave in list. Between retreats (from Hansdotter to Mugnier) and long-term injuries (Brunner and Veith above all), despite being out of the 30 of the giant WCSL, Irene Curtoni and Francesca Marsaglia will start with a bib around 25-27, while there is no they will do Karoline Pichler and Sofia Goggia, respectively 47th and 48th, as they do not have World Cup points to return to Midali and Melesi, but they will still be able to take advantage of a decent starting number.
Unlike the case of the downhill Olympian: Goggia will have to start from the gate on the Rettenbach with a bib around 60, probably just lower, as besides being out of the 30 in the specialty world, it failed in the final of last season (despite falling back from the injury) to reach 500 points in the general WCSL, a situation that would have guaranteed her at least 31. Sofia has 444 and, just as she risks repeating herself in Killington, she will have to invent a great first run for qualify and then reassemble to get good points; a shame because the Bergamo had already demonstrated at the World Championships (and previously it was placed 19th in Maribor in the Cup immediately) to be there also in this specialty, derailing in the 2nd round in the hunt for the medal. That exit, added to the Spindleruv Mlyn error (and the impossibility of competing in the Soldeu finals race) turned out to be decisive in the negative, since it was added to a point-level situation already in deficit, between the 2017/18 season which saw her in difficulty between the wide doors and the accident of a year ago that deprived her of more than half of the last year.
The precedents of Goggia in Soelden say of two exits in the 1st round, in 2013 and in 2017 (his last participation before last year's flat rate), but also of the 16th place of 2015 and above all of the 5th at the beginning of that magical vintage 2016/17 that saw it reborn.
