The French slalomist, who had injured her right ankle in late September, attempted recovery before giving up: "Complicated injury and with the FIS regulations on injured players I have no choice but to wait"

Nastasia Noens will lose the entire season, to try to get back to the best directly in 2020/21, starting from the Levi slalom.
This is the definitive choice of the transalpine slalomist, who had stopped again (after the serious knee injury of March 2016) in late September, when the right ankle had crashed in training in Ushuaia, forcing her to three full months of stop for a fracture to the tibia and posterior malleolus.
The 31-year-old from Nice would have liked to play the last World Cup slaloms, in particular from Maribor to Ofterschwang and Are before the Cortina finals, but today she announced that there are no conditions to meet that deadline after returning on skis for the first training in late December. “I have not given up anything to be able to start in the last 3 Cup slaloms - wrote on social media Noens - Unfortunately this is a complicated injury that requires time and patience; with the FIS injured regulations, I really have no choice but to run this year. It is important for me not to burn the footsteps and to be able to go on the attack next season. "
A situation, that of the two "protection" races before risking ending up far behind in the starting lists, which obviously is evaluated by each athlete on his return on a case by case basis, as happened for example to Christof Innerhofer who, not obtaining very high placings level (double 15th place between Kitz and Garmisch), he will almost certainly not run until the end of the season to defend his status.
