Bassino, Brignone and Goggia are back in Italy today: the eagerly awaited opening of Soelden in a month

The elite trio's work in Ushuaia is concluded, fully satisfied with the preparation carried out on the Argentine snows. Another week for the multipurpose, then the slalom races will close.

Yesterday the last day in Tierra del Fuego, today the flight back to Italy. The long training period is over, almost five weeks full of work, for the elite trio of the women's national team, with Marta Bassino, Federica Brignone and Sofia Goggia (the two Olympic medalists will be protagonists on Sunday at the Sport Festival in Trento) who they put together about 25 days on skis, alternating all disciplines in really good conditions found in Ushuaia. All this exactly one month after the opening in Soelden, with the giant on the Rettenbach scheduled for Saturday 22 October and in which especially Marta and Fede will aim very high. On the other hand, in the Oetztal it went badly practically only last year (Bassino out in the 1st heat, Brignone in the 2nd), with the historic brace of 2020 for the second career victory of the Cuneo rider on that track which, in 2015, he saw the Aosta Valley win the first of her twenty World Cup successes. And Goggia? She has always liked the Rettenbach, with that long final plateau to unload all its power, but in reality Sofia has not yet definitively dissolved the reservation on her presence in Soelden, wanting to start again with greater certainty in giant, even if the goodness of the '' training done in Argentina is certainly a help in this regard. From Ushuaia, instead, the six multipurpose coaches of coach Giovanni Feltrin will return next week (September 30) who, on the other hand, landed overseas seven days later than their colleagues. Elena Curtoni, Nicol and Nadia Delago, Laura Pirovano (everything is going great for the return to full speed of the thirty), Karoline Pichler and Roberta Melesi are working with quality, as well as the slalomists who will finish the training on October 3, with Lara Della Mea, Anita Gulli, Celina Haller, Marta Rossetti, Martina Peterlini, Vera Tschurtschenthaler and Serena Viviani have been on track for a couple of weeks in those latitudes.
