First real party in Slovakia for the winner of the World Cup: "It was difficult to have to do without the public".

She wrote the history of her country by becoming the first skier to win the World Cup, but she is the pride of an entire nation and of course of her city, Liptovsky Mikulas.
After months of waiting, on Friday Petra Vlhova was finally able to ideally receive the embrace of her people, on the occasion of the traditional "Svabkafest" coincided with a ceremony that wanted to confer honorary citizenship on the champion. Petra is the youngest citizen to receive it, directly from Mayor Jan Blchac, who spoke of it as "a personality that has developed thanks to hard work and the support of the family".
The 26-year-old who, last March in Lenzerheide, raised the crystal ball to the sky after the two world silver medals won in Cortina, showed the World Cup to the thousands of people who flocked to the heart of Liptovsky Mikulas for a day of celebration. “This remains my home - said Vlhova on stage - and finally we can all find ourselves together. It was difficult having to do without the crowd last season, also because I have always received enormous support from the fans. Now let's look ahead ”.
At the Beijing Olympics, the real goal of the 2021/22 vintage in which the Ticino coach Mauro Pini will lead it, but with the will to play his chances in the cup again (sacrificing some quick races), starting with the giant d '' opening in Soelden on October 23rd.
