An encore by Franziska Gritsch and a great Karoline Pichler, for the second speed round for the women's European Cup in Val Sarentino.
Even today's super-g in Reinswald saw the 24-year-old Austrian prevail, but in third position here is the South Tyrolean, now very competitive in this discipline as well as demonstrated in the World Cup. For “Karo” it is the second podium after the 2nd place in Val di Fassa 2021, and only 19 cents were missing for a winning masterpiece, with Christina Ager second, 8 cents behind her teammate.
Pichler, on the other hand, had a margin of 3 on Elisabeth Reisinger (also today, three eagles in the first four places), fourth, with the Swedish Jonna Luthman fifth at 28 cents from the winner. Out yesterday in the final, Roberta Melesi played a second part of the amazing super-g, in the end worth sixth place at just 31 cents, in front of a very good Monica Zanoner (+ 0 "40), the best in career in the discipline after the great downhill podium in Orcieres-Merlette.
Very good also the tests of Teresa Runggaldier, 13th with 78 hundredths of a delay, and Ilaria Ghisalberti 15th at 1 second clear, with some points also for Cillara Rossi, 26th, and Sosio, 27th.
