Rain and high temperatures, the Slovenian technical tests of 8-9 January 2022 will almost certainly move to Podkoren. In the next few hours the snow check: a year ago on Podkoren there was a double by Marta Bassino.

It is a story that repeats itself almost every year, if we think that the last two times in which Maribor, albeit a fixed stop in the initial calendar of the Women's World Cup, managed to host the pink circus, date back to 2017 and 2019.
The snow check scheduled for Thursday 30 December should sanction, as Paolo De Chiesa himself confirmed this evening during the episode of "Green Ice" on NEVEITALIA, the new passage of the races from one Slovenian location to another, from "Pohorje ”At the“ Podkoren ”in Kranjska Gora, ready to host the girls too before the classic March appointment with the male sector.
Two technical races are scheduled, giant and slalom, on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 January 2022, the second and third round of the new year after the slalom in Zagreb (4 January), which has already received the green light from the FIS. The problem is always the same, exacerbated by the high temperatures of the period even at much higher altitudes than the 300 meters of Maribor: rain and heat make it practically impossible to compete there, so everyone in nearby Kranjska Gora where, however, help from weather will be needed to ensure two high quality tests.
It is difficult to see the extreme ice that, in January 2021, was tamed by an extraordinary Marta Bassino, capable of winning both giants reprogrammed on Podkoren, but certainly for the technical qualities of the blue, the new move from Maribor to Kranjska Gora is still '' other than negative. The giant of 2020 was won by Alice Robinson, that of 2018 instead Mikaela Shiffrin (with an encore in slalom), on the day of the last podium between the wide doors of Sofia Goggia, third in a great comeback.
And just the American and the Bergamo-born could restart the challenge for the absolute crystal ball from Podkoren ...
