After the Cortina World Championships (with Mikaela who has signed another record), the Women's World Cup will restart with fast races in Val di Fassa. Petra has flown to Jasna, Gut-Behrami and Gisin will try to overtake on "La VolatA".

The great protagonists of women's skiing have come out more or less all (with the exception of Federica Brignone) with satisfaction and medals from the world championships in Cortina.
The closing was entirely by Katharina Liensberger, definitively exploded with the two world titles (and the bronze in giant, a breath away from the gold ...) of which the dominant one conquered in slalom. The 23-year-old Austrian trimmed a second to Petra Vlhova and two to Mikaela Shiffrin, the absolute references of the discipline for many years; the beauty is that we are talking about two athletes born in '95, with the motivation to always improve to stay at the top, since “Kathi” had already triggered the alarm during her amazing season of CdM.
Back immediately on skis, Mikaela and Petra, even if with different objectives; Shiffrin will have no particular pressures in this season finale, 374 points away from Vlhova herself in the overall cup standings, but still in the running for the slalom one. Incredible what the American did in Cortina, with 4 medals in as many world championships and another record signed: ten consecutive world championship races on the podium, just think that Mikaela did not finish in the top 3 of a world championship only in giant in Schladming (sixth ) and Beaver Creek (eighth), winning 11 medals in 13 appearances.
Vlhova, who came out of Cortina with two silvers in combined and in slalom: certainly, far from Shiffrin in one case and from Liensberger in the other, but Livio Magoni's pupil is facing a full season from day one, with only one great goal, the absolute World Cup. The Slovakian champion will present herself in Val di Fassa again as leader, even if Lara Gut-Behrami is in amazing form and now believes in it, just 42 points from Vlhova, and Michelle Gisin herself (who has regained confidence with speed right at the World Cup) is at -182, an unbridgeable gap.
Marta Bassino's mission is much more difficult, with 248 points behind and too few ideal races for her characteristics: the mission of the Cuneo woman will be to close the accounts for her first giant crystal ball.
Returning to Petra, she had already arrived in Jasna on Saturday evening to be able to train in the area that, next March 6-7, will host giant and cup slalom, a doubly important appointment for her, at home and with very heavy points up for grabs for the dream cup. Tomorrow, he will return to Italy to present himself at the starting gate of the first test on “La VolatA” in Passo San Pellegrino, as he will participate in all the races in Val di Fassa, starting with the first descent scheduled for Friday.
