On 9-10 January 2021 the appointment in the heart of Arlberg with downhill and super-g on a track that the girls will find again eight years after that weekend in which they were Alice McKennis (ahead of Dada Merighetti) and Tina Maze to triumph.

A legendary track, which the Women's World Cup will find again, and we can finally say after the years in which only Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and Bad Kleinkirchheim alternated as a speed appointment on the Austrian snow to open the new one.
St. Anton am Arlberg and the "Karl Schranz", obviously dedicated to the native myth of a symbolic location in the world of skiing and mountains, will return to host women on 9-10 January 2021, with a downhill run and a super-g officially confirmed after the snow check carried out this morning. Green light from the FIS for the second round of the season with speed, following the long weekend in Val d''Isère, after saying "no" to the recovery of the second super-g canceled in Sankt Moritz (the first was added in the Crans-Montana stage, from 22 to 24 January), which is still looking for a place on the calendar.
Only two races, after the slalom in Zagreb on January 3, which will reopen the CdM once the upcoming two days of Semmering have been disputed, with the appointment of St. Anton at the start already on Thursday 7 January with the first of two tests scheduled towards the descent on Saturday 9 (which will start at 11.45 am) and with the super-g (11.30 am) closing on Sunday 10.
The precedents of the last appearance of the women's circuit in those parts date back to 12-13 January 2013: Alice McKennis won downhill for the first and only time in her career (what a pity for the American, who will not be there after the injury remedied at the debut in Val d''Isère) by burning "Dada" Merighetti for 7 cents, while the super-g of the following day saw another duel, that between Tina Maze, launched towards the year of cup records , and Anna Fenninger (at the time not yet Veith ...), beaten for only 4 cents by the Slovenian.
