Ushuaia
At 7.30 we are on the "camioneta," which leads us to the daily Cerro Castor, the ski resort where we train. Among my companions listen to some music, some dozing, others indulge in a deep sleep. When I came to Ushuaia for the first time in 2009 I was 16 and I was my first experience with the national team. A long-cherished dream finally about to begin in a magical land, which aroused curiosity in my eyes and tranquility in my mind, instilling in me, day after day, a deep mark. An incredibly far from routine, habits and standards, an extraordinary place worthy to be called "The End of the World." Get off the "camioneta" after the usual 40 minutes, I headed to the bar, I get dressed quickly and I take the chair lift: I like to be the first to turn in free field, enjoying the track and no one has already left its mark, I like to see the sun rising over the endless expanses of trees and mountains. Just like allora.Ogni day we reach the goal that Livy, our coach, we set itself the night before. We are working on quality: a few laps, but everyone as if they were a race. Is teaching us that we must learn to focus best in every situation, even as adverse may be, you have to give 100% both physically and head and you need to know to always grasp all the opportunities that are given to us. At the Olympics, says Livy, you only have one chance: you have to be ready, you have to grasp it! The workout ends and all we head to the "Morada", a restaurant at the foot of the chairlift where we have lunch. Between photos, athletic training, video analysis of your workouts, ski room, shower and dinner, the evening comes quickly, leaving no breathing. It's already 21 and I lie down. The pace is relentless, we are all tired and feel the need to go to rest soon. Review mentally the day just passed and then my mind dwells on the objectives to achieve the next day: the video showed the details that tomorrow I will strive to improve. I think of how lucky she is to be able to live this extraordinary experience in the other hemisphere is a rare opportunity and I am convinced that being aware of it is my greatest fortune!
