The point is that now there will be eight technical races one after the other: starting from the two giants on Tuesday and Wednesday in Courchevel, passing through the two technical tests on December 28-29 in Lienz, then with the new year slalom in Zagreb , giant and slalom in Maribor and a new challenge between the narrow poles in the night of Flachau, before returning to speed in Zauchensee, in mid-January.
Shiffrin, barring surprises, will earn a good margin and then will have to decide how many and which downhill and super-g races to play, almost certainly only Cortina before the Olympics: the American remains the favorite, her average over several disciplines is clear, but this Goggia holds a door open.
Sofia who commands both rankings in speed more and more clearly, and from today in super-g, also thanks to the absence of Gut-Behrami, it must be said, is 1-2-3 blue in the classification of the discipline: the Bergamo-born he has 93 points over Brignone and 104 over Elena Curtoni, who can and must try for the red bib at the end of the year, considering the quality expressed in her favorite specialty.
In the WCSL of super-g, Goggia also overtook Corinne Suter and is third behind Gut-Behrami and Brignone, Shiffrin is now 7th ahead of Bassino, then by Ledecka, who skipped the last 3 super-gs to focus on snowboarding, up to Gagnon there is a beautiful chasm of points, with Francesca Marsaglia who lost the top ten and ... the cursed number 1. A news that is anything but negative for the Piedmontese by adoption ...
