Belonging to the municipality of Kittilä, Levi is one of the largest ski resorts in Finland. Located beyond the Arctic Circle, has made its appearance in the calendar of the World Women's Cup in February 2004. After another appearance in March 2006, the 2006-07 season was set as the second round of the season after the Giant Sölden, usually in mid-November.
In all, 11 races hosted by Levi, all Slalom. The palm plurivincitrice up to Maria Höfl-Riesch, who was imposed three times (February 29, 2004, November 14, 2009 and November 10, 2012) on a total of 9 career successes in the World Cup among the narrow poles. The German also has 2 second places (2010 and 2013) and one third (28 February 2004), for a total of 7 podiums.
Other names in the gold Slalom Levi belong only to genuine world class. Tanja Poutiainen won it, Janica Kostelic, Anja Pärson, Marlies Schild (2 times), Mikaela Shiffrin, Tina Maze and even Lindsey Vonn, who won here 15 November 2008 the first of two slalom won in his career.
At the level of nations, controls Germany, whose booty coincides with that of Mary Höfl-Riesch with the addition of a third place by Martina Ertl Renz 29 February 2004. The United States are the only nation that boasts successes with more than a girl, and Vonn Shiffrin, while the total number of podiums sees commanding Austria at 9: 2 victories on Schild, 3/2 places with Elisabeth Görgl (2 times) and Nicole Hosp, and 4/3 with Nicole Hosp and Kathrin Zettel (3 times).
Hardly encouraging Italy's budget. A Levi fact the Italians have never been able to get on the podium, and the best result dates back to fifth place by Chiara Costazza 11 March 2006. For the rest only two other top ten: the same Costazza was eighth on the previous day, while Annalisa Ceresa came seventh February 29, 2004.
The Slalom Levi Female will be held Saturday, February 12. Italian first heat at 10 hours (11 rooms), the second at 13 Italian (14 rooms).
