Stacey Cook says goodbye to the Pink Circus

With a long post on Instagram Stacey Cook, a Californian from Mammoth Mountain, announced the withdrawal from competitive activity four days after turning 34.

"With a sunset comes another dawn - Stacey writes - I decided that the time has come to abandon the competitive ski and look towards new goals and adventures.I loved being an athlete and all that this brought, including travel, friendship, inspiration and opportunity. The sport has improved my life in many ways. Now, even if I still feel so much love and passion for skiing, I feel very inspired by the thought of realizing my potential in another way I leave behind goals that I deeply wanted to achieve, but I also think back to my girl dreams and how I overcame what I could have imagined I know that my constant desire to achieve the maximum will be a force to go forward and not a regret that I leave so many people with whom I am indebted for helping me along the way, it would take too long to list them here, I hope I have the opportunity to thank each one of them in the future, from vici no or from afar ".
